It all begins in the furnace, where Salviati’s artisans heat the glass to 1,400°C. In the first step of a perfectly orchestrated choreography involving no fewer than four master glassmakers, just the right amount of glowing coloured glass is gathered on an iron blowpipe. Shaped by hand, it is then blown into the mould with extreme precision before being cooled. After polishing, a final master glassmaker finishes the neck of the bottle to ensure it perfectly accommodates the iconic pebble-shaped cap, which is also handcrafted in seven stages. Each bottle is then individually numbered from 1 to 100 in 22-carat gold, becoming a unique and unrepeatable work of art.
